PT. STERN is a company focused on organic matter management, biogas production, wastewater treatment and organic fertilization. BIOTEC is seeking for candidates for the post of Operation Engineer based in Indonesia on a full time basis

Operation Engineer

Medan (Sumatera Utara)

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Operation and Maintenance Manager
• Implementing, under the guidance of the O&M Manager, procedures and SOP with the operation teams
• Auditing biogas plants and follow up on data collection and consistency from operation teams
• Preparing CDM monitoring data for reporting
• Liaising with operators and supervisors of biogas plants
• Liaising with clients on site regarding operating parameters
• Following up on audits and actions to be taken
• Preparing maintenance requisition forms with plant supervisors

Requirements:

• Basic in an Engineering degree in the fields of in Chemical /Bio Engineering / Mechanical / Agriculture with:
• Key experience:
• Experience in operation/maintenance aspects of palm oil  mills or related agro-industries for one to two years
• Exposure in liaising with DOSH, DOE and related government authorities
• Experience in drafting and implementing standard operating procedures, operation manuals and related documents
• Experience in working with operators and maintenance team in industrial set up
• Working knowledge in Microsoft word office; Microsoft excel; Power point and  basic statistics
• Additional aspects appreciated:
• Technical  background in solid and liquid waste management technologies;  anaerobic digestion concept;
• Exposure to CDM methodologies and projects monitoring
• Exposure to laboratory practices and current wastewater analysis method
• Basic knowledge in drawing, P&ID and process flow reading
• Experience in operating existing biogas plant is a plus
• Knowledge of biogas technologies is a plus
• Attributes:
• Have min. one to two years’ experience in the areas mentioned above
• Speak English and Indonesian fluently – knowing  additional languages is preferable
• Willing to travel frequently in Indonesia
• Willing to learn a new technology in a promising sector
• Meet deadlines
• Work late hours including weekends , if the work demands
• Work independently and as a team as well
• Possess  good communication skill especially with operators
• Possess a valid car driving license
